My girlfriend and I are going to Vinh Long in November to see her parents. After that we have 2 nights to do something else. I'm trying to decide if we should spend the 2 nights in Can Tho or at a more remote hotel in the Mekong Delta country side.
A big night out for many Vietnamese is a trip to a Karaoke bar where they rent a room to suit the size of their party and staff bring them food and drinks as needed.
Its been 3 years since I went to Can Tho and I don't recall seeing any bars of the type you would see in a western city, it may have changed.
We went on a night time river cruise on a triple decker boat and that was good fun with food,drink and entertainment for a low price. Each deck had a different kind of performer. In the country side ,people pretty much go to sleep after sundown but most towns have a large semi outdoor eating area where the diners often stay on after the meal has finished ,drinking and talking. We found a few bars by a river.
I'm not sure where it was but it was quite nice. You can see their address on foody. Yes ,its huge. Its moored in the river in the main part of town. Even if it has left they will ferry you out in a smaller boat. The young people in Can Tho are mostly tamed but they still party, and there are even more clubs than Dennis mentioned. Well, Cantho is not party city but you can find some good food here. There are 02 different sections:. Ninh Kieu park along the river with night market - not much but the street food courts attract people.
