Report of Colonel Vo Van Duong- Deputy Director of the provincial Police showed that in recent years, the drug crimes and evils in the province continued to evolve complicatedly with the main drug source from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and other provinces.
So far, the drug prevention and fighting forces in the province have detected 80 violations of drug law, arrested and handled subjects. There are currently drug addicts in the province under the management of the provincial Police. The prostitution situation in the province has also been complicated. Some owners of hotels and inns have taken advantage of their business to organize or create favorable conditions for Prostitutes operating in their business establishments.
According to the Mission, although the situation of drug and prostitution crimes in the province is still complicated, but Quang Ngai is one of the two province where the number of drug addicts is low. Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tang Binh said that along with the development of industrial parks and enterprises in the province, the number of people outside the province working in the province will be very large, so in the up coming time, the situation of drug crime and prostitution in the province will continue to be complicated.
The province will continue to promote information and propaganda activities on the mass media, especially to direct localities to strengthen coordination between local authorities and mass organizations in order to propagate and mobilize people in fighting and preventing drug, prostitution and social evils. At the same time, Bao recommended that mass media agencies in the province should have a joint program of information dissemination.
After working with the provincial People's Committee, the delegation visited and worked with Quang Ngai Radio and Television Station to inspect the propaganda on AIDS, drug and prostitution prevention in the province. In the past three years, the Station has made news, radio broadcasts, news on television relating to this content. In addition, the Station also collaborated with the Central Radio to broadcast nearly news and reports on AIDS, drug abuse, prostitution and crime prevention.
