Time for another location review! I recently escaped the madness of Saigon and took a little road trip to the beach. This time I visited the beach town of Mui Ne. Not much going on in Mui Ne. The nearby city of Phan Thiet is where I would hunt for girls. Bring your own girl from Saigon or hunt the Russian tourists there. If you need a quick release try the massage parlors. I think everywhere in Vietnam is affordable and Mui Ne is no exception.
It was right on the main strip and had everything I needed. Aircon, wifi, fridge, nice clean sheets. Mui Ne is a cheap, relaxing holiday destination. Way too quiet and boring. Now that could be a positive for some people.
Just depends on the kind of lifestyle you are looking for. Mui Ne is one long strip with a bunch of tourist crap built up. Shops, hotels, resorts, restaurants, etc. When I was there the place seemed like a ghost town. Not much in the way of night life at all. If you go alone, you will be one lonely motherfucker. I recommend bringing a date with you. Close by Mui Ne there is a desert with red sand dunes which is popular with tourists.
To be honest, I was not very impressed by Mui Ne and I did not think it was worth the trip. If you want to party and go shopping then Saigon is your spot. These places have much more to do and flights are so cheap here you might as well go somewhere more interesting. If you just want a quick weekend getaway from Saigon then go to Vung Tau. I think Mui Ne is in a weird spot. Mui Ne is a small beach town which is a part of Binh Thuan province.
Now this is a place I would live! No tourists, just locals living, working and going to school. I drove around a few afternoons and had lunch there.
