I am sure that prostitution happens everywhere, but never have I seen it conducted openly from the lobby. Staff didn't seem to care when we approached them, in fact, they saw the entire business being conducted in the lobby!! Every room has a bell and I guess the working ladies were ringing the bells all night long, since they don't have the key to get in.
Just to note that there is a sign in the lobby that says all visitors need to vacate the premises by 10 PM and the business was being conducted, starting about 10 PM. I encourage you not to support such establishment, unless you're interested in being one of the "John's"!!! But one bad thing about here,the breakfast menu is very poor,they dont even serve olive or cheese in breakfast. I discovered this small hotel years ago.
I am never disappointed. I prefer the rooms 2 in the rear of the hotel. Especially the smaller ones in the "06" stack. The lighting is great, the quiet aircon even more so. Large TV and comfortable desk space work out fine. I close my eyes, lean back and enjoy the tub. The included breakfasts are scrumptious. Or you can vie for a delicious noodle soup. The staff lean over to provide you with friendly and caring service to a overboard degree.
In the quiet comfort, I enjoy a deep sleep. Oh yes, the location: around the corner from the huge market in District One. On the opposite side of the block is the Tokyo Deli; by far the best sushi I hace ever had. And around the corner, a tiny shop making their own divine chocolates.
I took many home with me. I've been up most of the night.. I tried putting on music to sleep but the honking of horns every couple of minutes has kept me up all night.. I've never experienced this before.. I'm not a light sleeper..
