It was the residence of the king, queens and priests and also served as commercial, political and administrative center.

If you don't speak Spanish, just saying 'Chan Chan' is enough Wonderful very large ruin to visit. Our tour guide was wonderful explaining the history of Chan Chan before the Incas.
Our guide only speak Spanish but my daughter and her Peruvian husband translate to us. Its not to far outside of Trujillo. I highly recommend this tour, in Spanish or English. The guide was so helpful and friendly, and provided soooo much great and interesting information.
