The Polk County Sheriff's Office said John Waldau of Lakeland, 36, established on online relationship with the girl and exchanged nude and sexually explicit photos with her.
The year-old told detectives she had tried numerous times to delete contacts with the man online, "but he kept coming back" and contacting her through new accounts, and she said Waldau would threaten her with kidnapping if she did not comply with his requests.
Waldau was arrested Dec. Waldau admitted to detectives that he and the girl had engaged in sexual intercourse at least three times at his home, without a condom, and said the teen would sneak out to see him late at night, according to the arrest affidavit, while she told others others she was going to a friend's house.
When detectives interviewed the girl, she told them she and Waldau had engaged in sexual intercourse during the summer of , and confirmed she exchanged sexually explicit photos with Waldau.
At one point, the girl said, he threatened to kidnap her and said she would never see anyone again. She told detectives "I told him this wasn't right, and I didn't like him and he needed to stop, but he kept coming back," according to interviews in Waldau's arrest affidavit.
