To enter the hotel by night you have to make your way between numerous working girls on the stair in front of the hotel. The hotel itself is sharing the lobby and bathrooms with the next door bar, there are very young girls with elderly gentlemen all over the lobby and corridors. If you are traveling with children or are sensitive to this type of 'industry' I would certainly not recommend this hotel.
The whole hotel wreaks of cigarette smoke, the carpet doesn't help with that. The rooms are ok, quite dated and old decor. The extrabed for only b seemed like a bargain until you slept in it, the floor would be more comfortable and there was no blanket. Roof-top pool was the only nice surprise.
There is NO luggage room what downtown Bangkok hotel doesn't have that? But I guess most clients seem to rent the rooms by the hour Also one has to beg for an extra roll of toilet paper in the reception, since there is only ONE in the bathroom. The travel site i used did not match up to what this hotel was actually This hotel has a superb location in Sukhumvit, with all of Bangkoks nightlife, and great restaurants just outside the door. We had a deluxe room which was very comfortable and spacious.
This hotel has the famous Thermae Bar beneath it which is a girlie bar, and which is often referred to as The Star Wars Bar. It is one bar which everyone should visit once in a lifetime. The staff at the hotel were friendly. We did not sample the food. The bathroom was clean and the cleaning staff did a great job. I stayed in a twin bed room which came with very basic toiletries , not safe box, no hair dryer and slipper. However , the bathroom was clean and bright.
Staffs is not so friendly and lacking of smile. This hotel is not a place for light sleeper as it is very close to the main road and BTS skytrain station. The noise from the traffic can be quite disturbing. Not recommended to single female traveller. Check out nearby accommodation with the similar budget for a better choice. Stayed at this hotel in July as my favorit hotel was fully booked.
