I reserved this place for my wedding on this November. At first the menu looked fine and price was reasonable. I was in New Zealand and my family made an advance payment on behalf of me. When I came back to SL for the wedding I went there to make the full payment. Then they told me that I had to find my own guy for light decorations. Apparently the Rest house does not provide any lights at all for the wedding even though mine was a night function.
Not only that but also they told me to that I had to hire my own electric generator for lights and that they would not provide electricity from the hotel. But I said ok and went with it. When my friends decorated the place on the event day, with our own lights along with a our own hired generator, they tried their best to be jerks by not even providing a ladder. They did not allow our decorator guy to go in and do his thing until 4pm when my event was to start at 6pm. It was very hard to make them fix the on the ceiling for the band.
Otherwise the band would have to play in the total darkness. The food was not bad but at the end there was a shortage of few items including deserts. Funny thing is I paid for people and only people attended the event. But many of my friends who helped me in the event, did not have all the items I ordered.
It is customary for a hotel to provide a room for the couple if it is a wedding function. They provided me with a room which looked like a place which operates illegal prostitution. I have attached photos. We stopped to have some lunch There was a pathetic looking buffet and the staff were trying to get us to have it.
When we asked to order off the menu they discouraged us saying it will take 40 min. Then I asked for fried seer and that too he said was not available! Then he said no seafood can be cooked as they has a order of 20 and for us to have the buffet again! Very historical place like a home neat and clean. Friendly service , quality and tested food. Even situated around the city place was very clam. Close to all imported places you wish to visit.
