The Pahiyas Festival is celebrated every 15th day of May in honor of San Isidro Labrador and is the farmers thanks giving for a rich and bountiful harvest. These are leaf- shaped multi- colored rice -paste wafers use to decorate their houses along with agricultural products.
The feast day is preceded by a novena, nine days of prayer in honor to Ina. This begun on Ati- atihan is a festival in honor of Santo Nino Infant Jesus. The competitors during the festival cover their body with soot and paint their faces to portray the Ati. These costumes are sometimes partnered with concepts that are flower-related.
