Legally you can run the business, but not work in it. So you can't give massages but you could train or supervise. You'd need a Costa Rican accountant.
As to the Costa Rican people they are very friendly. However, a lot of Ticos see foreigners as rich people and are not adverse to separating them from their money as fast as possible in a friendly way so you have to keep your eyes open.
