After traveling in Japan for a while with my partner, we figured that Love Hotels are really worth it on a value for money basis. I can safely say this is the fanciest hotel I've every stayed in.
The rooms are basically small apartments. Every room has a different theme of sorts but they all provide the basics such as HUGE beds, spa baths and plenty of amenities. If you want to pay a bit more you can choose a room with a pool table or other fancy gadgets.
Definitely a fun experience. We were visiting Kyoto and after a day's walking, coming back to that hotel was refreshing! The staff also face you in check in and check out avoiding the whole awkward for us foreigners "see only my hands" thing other love hotels do.
Free car park and walking distance to the Otsu train station that takes you into central Kyoto within 30 mins. As for a commenter that was upset that he had to check out everyday Yes indeed you check out everyday, however the staff are more than happy to keep your luggage with them in the reception until you return in the afternoon.
It was really exciting for us to get a different theme room every day! Nothing I could say about the hotel. The train station is walking distance but it is 20 mins away on foot. For some people it might be too much I guess.
