I like this modern Japanese hotel because of its design, bed, rain shower, attentive services, branded amenities, breakfast especially the DIY OJ machine etc.
If you are not looking for a traditional hotel with Onsen and can deal with staff who may not fully speak and understand English, try this and you won't be disappointed. Unless, you really want to have a hotel with an on-site onsen, this is a great choice for accommodations in Matsuyama.
If you plan to go to the big onsen, "Dogo Onsen Honkan", it is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Since English is nearly non-existent at this hotel, you may have trouble making a reservation directly, but there are booking sites that you can use that make the room choices and options clear.
Besides just getting the room itself, you can add on meals as a package deal. The dinners are very nice, although be aware that the menu is only in Japanese. You can somewhat guess from the menu pictures. I had a steak one night that was very good, also tried the selection of sausages that were good.
Since the emphasis is on local fresh produce, you should try the box of vegetables, a really delicious selection of interesting items! You have to see it for yourself, but I would definitely say eat at least once here for dinner.
