If you believe your post has been removed in error, contact the moderators. Repeat offenders may be banned. I'm about to study in Aomori hirosaki uni for a year, and I've never left the country. I'm a Californian who has been one his whole life. Never left the states but have travelled all over the US. I'm open minded and not racist, but obviously jaded and I will experience some crazy culture shock when I arrive in one of the most rural parts of Japan to study at Hirosaki Daigaku for a year.
September 19th to mid-August. I'm 23 years old, male, studied Japanese for 4 years of high school and 3 of college, have taken every Japanese course my college offers, and passed up to the JLPT Level 2 barelyand with that I've learned much of the culture and language - keigo, most grammar, a lot of kanji, very good conversationalist I'm told, a lot of the cultural customs, etc. Should I buy a long-term rail pass, or no if I plan on mostly staying in Aomori until school breaks when I might travel south?
I'm landing in Tokyo and am probably going to take a train to Aomori, maybe a plane depending on price, but if a plane is to expensive I might just Slut in Hirosaki a long-term JRP.
