I think nowadays this museum stays behind with being pro active to the customer. For the price We thought it would be a fun experience to visit this museum, but we were outside within 1 hour and It was great!
Real fun, interactive etc. So, when I went to Berlin again with friends I expected the same result. It was awful On the second floor there was just some information about first female pilot in Germany, and even no nude pictures of her. I strongly suggest not to visit it before they have changed their exhibition again. The first floor was okay to explore, although I had seen all those old pictures, dildos etc on my first visit. We went in expecting an overload of erotica and kinkyness and only found a history lesson about some woman.
And then a load of old Japanese porn from a few hundred years ago. A terrible waste of money. Not what i was expecting at all. To light, to short, boring weak collection of "erotic" things, 9 euros for some basic erotic art know-how. Not to mention the arogant lady at the register. No fun. You can skip this one in my opinion. Berlin is full of nice art and museums.
Spend your money and time on memorable experiences. I have seen a lot of negative comments about this museum and I suspect it has more to do with expectations. The museum is small but actually pretty unique among erotic art museums in its content. The history of Beata is interesting in its own right and the museum has chosen to focus on historical aspects of eroticism.
If you are looking for overtly erotic displays, they exist but are not the focus of this museum. A little over priced for what it was however it was well presented and not so tacky or cheap looking as expected. Not bad for a giggle with the other half. My husband and I decided to check out the Erotic Museum while we were out walking around the area. The museum is on two floors, which were covered in about 10 minutes. I was expecting more for the 8 euros per person.
