We have lots and lots of good translations here for "womanizer", but none of them apply for "whore", because we have to remember that "male whore" or "manwhore" are meant to be used about prostitutes.
A male whore, however, is always in the sense of prostitute, because there are lots of other words to use for womanizer, skirtchaser, casanova, etc. It's a very recent term, and specifically used for male prostitutes. They could be used with some amusement, or as an equivalent to womanizer. Chaud lapin has some content of ironic sympathy "he's quite a lad" coureur alone is more negative.
