Tycho Brahe. Tycho Brahe, the Danish nobleman, is considered one of the most revolutionary astronomers and scientists in the history of the world. He personally catalogued and monitored over a thousand stars. Brahe spent so much time observing the stars that one of his eyes became noticeably more open than the other. Another notable point is that Brahe was assisted by none other than Johannes Kepler.
When he was in his early years, his uncle practically stole him from his parents and raised him as his own. Though we do not know for sure where Tycho received his early schooling, he studied law at the University of Copenhagen , while dabbling in other subjects of interest to him.
This is where Tycho fell in love with the meticulous nature of science. He determined that science was not to be expected to haphazardly stumble upon great discoveries; instead science had to be systematically and rigorously observed.
Tycho was one of the last scientists who began his craft without the aid of a telescope. He was even able to make accurate parallax measurements with his naked eye.
Under Danish law, Tycho remained a nobleman, and after three years of carrying the house key on her belt, they were married, though any children would be commoners and they could not inherit his land or titles.
