A Thai woman running a respected massage business has had enough of 'rude' Aussie men demanding a 'happy ending' and decided to lock them out. Darunrat Chansopha, who owns Pha Thai Massage in Cairns, says the increase in premises offering 'sexy massages' has made her job more dangerous. Ms Chansopha, who completed business studies in Bangkok, only offers authentic therapeutic Thai massage services but still has to decline seedy requests for 'extras' every day.
Such callers are met with a polite but firm 'mai ow, krap' which means 'No thanks'. According to a survey of its members by Massage and Myotherapy Australia, skilled massage therapists experience sexual harassment every day. The organisation has called on the Queensland government to decriminalize sex work so that it cannot be misrepresented as massage. One female reviewer wrote on google that Pha 'will leave you crying if you're not tough'.
