Education Authorities in Mazabuka District have confirmed that all schools that were scheduled to reopen for the second term on Monday will not do so because of the outbreak of cholera in the District.
Ngolwe told ZANIS staffer Lemmy Likando in interview today that all head teachers and the Parents Teachers Association have since been communicated to over the prolonged closure saying schools will only reopen once the situation improves. And Mazabuka District Medical Officer Stephen Shajanika said the cholera situation in the district has not yet been fully contained with new cases being recorded on a daily basis.
And Ministry of General Education Spokesperson Hillary Chipango announced that schools in Monze and Mazabuka districts will not reopen following advice from Ministry of Health officials.
